Elizabeth McDaniel

A strong and talented writer, Beth offers clients a wealth of knowledge from a varied background in politics, conservation, and education. Her experience includes fundraising, grant writing, public and media relations, public policy, and organizational publications.

An alumna of DePauw University, she was graduated magna cum laude in English literature with a minor in political science. As she completes a master’s degree in English at Xavier University, she is helping others hone their writing skills as a graduate assistant at the James A. Glenn Writing Center.

Professionally, Beth has worked for both Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson and U.S. Senator Evan Bayh, handling a variety of constituent communications and media relations tasks. She also gained great experience in grant writing and other development projects working with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful.

As a clean water associate for Wisconsin Environment, a state-based group within the Environment America network, Beth took on Wisconsin utilities, fighting for stronger protections against mercury pollution. She met with Wisconsin lawmakers and took the fight to the press, gaining significant news coverage for the cause.

Beth has lived, worked and studied extensively abroad. During an internship with the United Nations Environment Program in Switzerland, she authored Educating for Sustainability: Reaching Children through Environmental Education.

She also spent 18 months teaching English in Korea. Enhancing her ability to write for relief organizations and other international clients is the broad and insightful worldview she gained through traveling to Japan, China, Nepal, India, England, Ireland, France, Italy and Jamaica.
